Lilah Pittman holds a Master of Arts in Music Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from Cameron University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Lilah first began teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, and drums while working on her bachelor’s degree, and has had multiple students go on to perform professionally themselves. Originally from Texas, she loves to perform and has done so with her hometown band, the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra.
She is also a board-certified music therapist and owner of Melody Music Therapy in Gaithersburg, MD. As a music therapist, she has worked extensively with individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities & adolescents with behavioral and emotional disorders. She is also working towards becoming a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery (AMI) through the therapeutic practice of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). She is passionate about both music therapy and music education.
Lilah specialises in both teaching and playing classical piano, liturgical piano, and pop/rock piano. Her teaching style utilises positive reinforcement and she meets the student where they are currently at to work towards musical success together.
