About Rebekah Spann

Rebekah Spann received her Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance (chemistry minor) from Oakwood University (Huntsville, AL). While a student at Oakwood, she had the privilege of performing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the university orchestra and as a solo for her senior piano recital. Rebekah is a board-certified music therapist currently finishing her Master’s degree in music therapy at the University of Kentucky (UK). While at UK, she also completed a graduate certificate in developmental disabilities with UK’s Human Development Institute.

Rebekah started piano lessons at the age of five and taught piano in high school which led to teaching adaptive piano lessons after college. Seeing the excitement and joy on her students’ faces, led Rebekah to music therapy where she hopes to use precise music and student input to provide that sense of enjoyment and empowerment to others.
