About Nina Grove

Nina Grove was born in Stavropol, Russia. At age 6, she started taking piano lessons. During the 8 years of education in music school, Nina took part in music festivals and won many piano competitions at different levels from city to regional. After that she studied in Stavropol Music College of Art in class of the Honored Worker of Russia, Lilia Bessonova. Under her professional and sensitive management, Nina graduated college in 2005 with a Red Diploma (Highest possible grades). Since January 2013 till present she works as a pianist in Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington, DC. Since September 2016 till present she works as pianist in Maryland Youth ballet.

Piano is absolutely unique instrument and in my opinion it has more practical implementations than any other musical instrument. It can sound beautiful as a solo by itself or as a solo in piano concerto with orchestra. As a duet with another piano or as a duet with violin, cello, voice and etc. It can give rhyme and structure for ballet dancers or harmony and melody for singers. And during years of my studying(12) and working (10) I had an opportunity to try all of this list. I believe that classical method of teaching combined with basics of musical theory and history combined with individual preferences and character of students combined with some practice work at home would lead to successful, encouraging and fun learning and playing piano.
