Video Production in the Modern World

With the advent of digital technology, more and more people are discovering the power of video as a means of expression. From documentary films to capturing touching moments with loved ones, videos have become an integral part of our day-to-day lives. Videos are everywhere you turn, and if you want your video production to make an impact, it is important to have a thorough understanding of the entire production process, from pre-production through filming and into post-production.

Comprehensive Step-by-Step Approach

Pre-production, which includes all of your film preparation, incorporates your creative writing and conceptualization as well as your functional planning, hiring, and scheduling. This is the groundwork upon which the rest of your production is built, and you don’t want to miss a step.

The second phase is the actual performance and recording, or production, of the video. Depending on the complexity of your project, this can take days, weeks or even years. The cost of filming, can be high depending on your production scale, so you will want to have an in-depth understanding of the production costs and budgeting as well as filming techniques and angles.

Finally, post-production involves the compilation and editing of all of your work into a finished video. This is very technology-driven, and you will want some editing techniques and other post-production methods under your belt in order to make the most of your material.

Recording Technology Know-How

In addition to helping you examine the creative process, our instructors have the technical know-how to help you learn about the latest filming technology. Videos can be saved on hard drives, SD cards, or flash drives in a variety of formats and can be disseminated through dozens of outlets. Using the right kind of file can make all the difference between having an easily shared video and a fractured mess of a file. A thorough understanding of recording, mixing, producing, and distribution technology will go a long way toward making your project a success.
