About Brian Weyant

Brian started playing percussion and drum set at the age of 8, continuing to play throughout middle and high school. Brian picked up other instruments along the way, including guitar, bass, mandolin, and piano. Brian obtained a bachelor’s degree in music education with a minor in jazz studies from Frostburg State University. He went on to obtain a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governor’s University.
Brian has taught in a wide array of settings including teaching elementary general music, instructing percussion for high school marching band, given private lessons in drum set, percussion, bass, guitar, and mandolin. He has played in a diverse set of ensembles including rock bands, marching band, jazz combos and big band, percussion ensembles, concert band and wind ensembles, as well as being part of a church praise band. Brian is happy to now be teaching lessons at Sloan School of Music!
