Deanna has always loved music and has been playing the piano for almost her entire life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, and taught piano lessons for several years in the DC/Montgomery County area. She then spent time becoming a classroom teacher and obtaining her Master’s in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University.
Throughout the years, Deanna has also had a lot of experience serving as a church musician, teaching group music classes, working in musical theater, singing in choirs, performing, and being an accompanist. She continues to hold a position as a pianist and organist at a church every Sunday, which she loves!
Deanna is so excited to be working at Sloan School of Music and to combine her love for music and teaching. Working with kids brings her so much joy, and she hopes to inspire a lifelong love for music in each of her students.
