Natalie Bonham is a mezzo-soprano who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Opera Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She is also a graduate of the Barbara Ingram High School for the Arts and a Maryland native.
She has been teaching voice and beginner piano for two years. She greatly enjoys teaching performance skills alongside instrumentalism, and takes a measured approach to balancing the two in her pedagogy. She believes a strong basis understanding music theory supports the building of confident musicians.
She has performed numerous choral works as a choir member in productions such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, J.S. Bach Ein Feste Burg ist Unser Gott, and original works by Charles Fussel, with UNCSA Cantata Singers. She also has performed in summer festivals, roles including ensemble in La Traviata and ‘Nursing Sister’ in Suor Angelica. She has competed in the annual National Association of Teachers of Singing competition in Greensboro, and was awarded ‘second in room’. She has been interested in and studying opera performance since 2013.
